Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a
very simple construct and yet many people have a hard
time coming to grips with it in practical terms.
Paying attention
to our body, our feelings, our states of mind and
various mental contents without greed, hatred and
delusion. With a clear, pure, impartial state of mind.
Not judging, not calling something good or bad, worth it
or not.
Remembering to pay
attention to these mental states without prejudice,
judging, etc.
Pay attention to
the present moment - while things are happening. Not
before, not after. When one sensation is focused on we
isolate it from all other sensations. If you're eating -
you're eating just that food that is being chewed in
your mouth. Your attention is there, no on the next bite
you've already put on your fork. You're not thinking
about what's next...
What you are doing
- you are doing. You are paying attention to only it.
You see constant movement, changes.
